Nature Lister is a mobile device application that is the result of many years personal experience of of keeping records for bird, moth, butterfly and other wildlife sightings recorded in the field. It can be used on various smart device platforms.
After speaking to several bird club record coordinators we have modified our original ideas to make the new app useful for both personal use, and as a platform for gathering information for other bodies such as club, county recorders and societies.
With this app you can record your sightings in the field, keep lists of the species recorded and the places you have visited. You can send your sightings records to yourself or others such as your county recorder or club via email.
The app is designed to allow you to decide on a location, download a species pack for that location, record what you see or hear while there, and then send your data for use in whatever package you use to store your sightings.
We supply FREE to download species packs which include all the Bird, Butterfly, Moth, Dragonfly, Reptile, Mammals and vascular plant species for specific areas.
The species packs for the UK also include the names and locations of several thousand commonly visited sites.
It is important to note that that you send your sighting by way of email so that you can keep them, Nature Lister does not store them forever.
When you upload a new species pack for another area you are starting again. Due to the storage capacity of most mobile devices keeping all sightings can easily fill up the device memory.
We are open to ideas from our users in the hope that we can make the application better and even more useful in the future.
